12/18/2019 · USB C doesn’t require a specific action in order to know what to do (and what function to use). Also, it depends of the generation of the USB C . It can be a USB 2.0, but with a type C connector, that won’t be able to connect anything other than a usb device.
11/22/2019 · The other drivers had nothing to do with secondary display , only with other components of the USB – C dock. And except for the Intel Graphics driver, the others weren’t offered via HP update channels. And for that graphics driver, HP is usually 1-10 months late.
9/19/2019 · The HDMI port successfully allows one external monitor as expected, but the USB Type- C to HDMI cable I am trying to use which uses the Display Port Alt protocol cannot display the monitor, I have changed monitors and tried the cable on another laptop that successfully runs a monitor from USB Type- C and the monitor and cable both work.

6/19/2019 · @HeyCori – Looks like the USB C adaptor nad USB C to USB C cable that I got were both not compatible with the Surface Go. Based on additional readings I was able to look up it needs to be a USB C 3.1 version to be able to carry the display signal from the surface to the external display /monitor. Similar to the one that you are currently using.

@MattyBoy4444 there’s no such thing as an XPS 13 3670, so I’m not sure what model you or the person who started this thread is actually referring to.But nothing needs to be enabled to use DisplayPort Alt Mode over USB – C . All you need is Windows 10 and the Intel Graphics drivers installed, and maybe update the BIOS if you’re having issues.
